Sevenoaks Badminton Club currently has around 20 members and we're always looking to recruit more members to our club, in particular, more ladies.

SBC, although a friendly club, is also a competitive club and we are not able to cater for beginners. Therefore, although anyone is welcome to come along and try the club, all new members will be subject to a 6-week trial period before either being asked to join as a full member or declined. This is to ensure that all members are able to play to a high standard and that it does not impact on the quality of the club nights.

SBC is happy to recruit members from 11 years of age upwards. However any individual aged between 11-16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian) to be able to play. This is for safety purposes.

New members will be able to play for up to 6 consecutive weeks on a pay-as-you-go basis at £5 per night. After this, subject to being asked to join by the committee, you'll be required to pay a fee, which covers 6 months of the year, of around £100. On top of this you'll also have to pay an additonal small charge to become a member of Badminton England for insurance purposes, although this is minimal at £16 per year.

Don't let the selection process put you off, come along and play for up to 6 weeks where a lot of improvement can take place! Although we compete in the Tunbridge Wells Badminton League, we also have many members that are happy to play socially at our club nights.
