About SBC

SBC was established in 2006 and has grown steadily to become one of the area’s most sought-after clubs. We now have around 30 members and the club consists of a good mix of men and ladies with an age range between 15 and 60.

SBC plays in the Tunbridge Wells league and has nine competing teams: 3 Men’s teams, a Ladies’ team, 3 Mixed teams, a Men’s Fours team and a Masters team. Most members will be selected to play in league matches in the course of a season, and there is a weekly opportunity to play in friendly matches, with a good mix of standards -  a chance to improve skills and game play or to impress one of the team captains at our club nights.

Unfortunately we are unable to cater for beginners and all new members must be able to play a good standard in order to be considered for full membership. If you consider yourself to be more of a beginner then why not try the badminton club at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, which takes place on a Sunday night - you'll generally find a few of our club members there.

Club Nights

We play every Monday night from 8.00 pm - 10.00 pm and from 8.00 pm -10:30 pm in match season. During match season we also hold club nights on Monday evenings to ensure that all our members get plenty of play. Unlike other clubs we continue to play right throughout the summer months and provide a club night for almost every week of the year (excluding some bank holidays and major holidays).

We have 4 courts available at the venue for club nights, although during match season sometimes this is reduced to 2 courts as the others are taken up with home matches.

We play in the sports hall at The Weald of Kent Grammar School in Sevenoaks. Please click  here for venue details...

We love to play badminton but we're also a pretty social bunch, often after a long session on court we'll sometimes head down to one of the local pubs to enjoy a few drinks and at points throughout the year we hold various social events.
